Book: Ikigai Author: Hèctor García, Francesc Miralles Publisher: Penguin Random House UK Format: Hardcover Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “happiness of always being busy or engaged”. It’s a self-help book that tells about the secret of having a good family life, eating right, working out, etc. It also tells about how to improve performance on a daily basis by staying focused. The people of Okinawa, a Japanese Island, tend to live long, i.e., for more than 100 years because it is known that they have discovered their Ikigai that help them to live a long and happy life. I bought this book when I saw that it was getting popular and also because of the attractive cover and let me tell you that this book has a lot to offer. This book gives you many good examples of the lifestyle of the Japanese who are known worldwide for their work. They give their best in their work and don’t stress those things which they can’t control. This book has covered all the important as...

Book review of The Alchemist

Image
Book: The Alchemist Author: Paulo Coelho Publisher: Harper Collins Format: Paperback I’ve heard a lot about this book & finally, I got to read it. The cover or this book is really decent & bright. It’s a story of a shepherd boy named Santiago who wants to fulfill his dreams to see the great pyramids and find the treasure that he dreamt of so he left Spain to follow his dream. Along the way, he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of the quest. During the journey, the boy learned many lessons of the desert & discovered the soul of the world. It is relaxing and enlightening at the same time because through this story one learns to trust the Omens in his/her life and allow all the things to come into a life that is meant for him/her. This book gives a positive approach to life and the writing style of the author is really great. Was the boy able to find the treasure? Read this book to find this. Thi...

Always go with the flow. It's not necessary that plan work every time and we all got to know this during the pandemic. Never give an excuse of not involving in hobbies by telling that 'I don't have time'. This pandemic gave us sufficient time where one could work and enhance skills in a creative field. An employee could be trusted as they managed to work from home for a long time during the pandemic. One doesn't need to be called to the office and assigned work and then trust him. This mindset should be changed. No job is small or big. We should respect all job and the person who is doing it. You may make new friends but never leave the old one's as there is someone to listen to you in your worst times. Never expect much from anyone. Work hard, stay focused and keep yourself engaged so much that you don't let negativity come to you.  Always give time to your hobby and feel relaxed. If you work all the time and run towards money then one day you'll real...
